Recitals
Solo program - Towards Bach
This program shows the developement of the violinistic solo literature.
Bachs predecessors and contemporaries as Biber or Pisendel contributed
wihtout doubt to the coming of age of sonatas and partitas for
violin solo. At the same time, the audiance receives an impression about the many possibilities of improvisation. Works by Matteis, Biber, Pisendel and Bach for violin solo.
The six Sonatas for violin and obligate Harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach
The six Sonatas -either in one evening or in two separated concerts.
An intense experience. With Jörg Halubek, harpsichord
Arcangelo Corelli and Giovanni Mossi
Giovanni Mossi's compositions were part of a development away from Baroque style to the new Sensitive style – a move which encompassed the break down of a strict traditional language
to a more lyrical gallant style. With sonatas of the two roman
composers Corelli and Mossi, the program uncovers the birth of the new
Italian style.
The Sonatas by Giovanni Mossi are now available on CD (Pan Classics PC 10212)
La Centifolia
The Broken Consort England and France in 17th century
French
composers in 17th century rearranged their enchanting ballets from
their operas to independent instrumental suites. The English got
inspired by this form and began to compose consorts who are very alike
the French suites. If until then violins and violas da gamba never
played together, they now could be heard united in works as Matthew
Lockes Broken consort. In France dance and opera melt together to new
instrumental pieces, in England new sounds freshen up the traditional
consort playing.
La Centifolia under the direction of Leila
Schayegh takes the public to this new world of sounds, to the courts of
Louis XIV and Charles II.
In the centre of this programs are the
composers Locke and Lully whose works are among the most important
during this period. The program may be booked in two variants, only
instrumental on in coproduction with the vocal ensemble savādi…
